James leads the Digital Experiences Department at CAD MicroSolutions pushing the innovation envelope with immersive display technology, including the latest in Augmented and Virtual Reality. Even as a child, he was a kid he was fascinated with virtual worlds, electronic entertainment, and storytelling. He knew one day virtual reality would become REALITY and be the dominant way people communicate and interact in the new digitally augmented reality of today we now call XR (Extended Reality).

As Vice-President, Strategy & Innovation, Dr. Rick Huijbregts oversees strategic planning and partnership development to ensure George Brown College remains well positioned to evolve and adapt for the digital and rapidly changing future. He strives to advance community and industry innovation while providing students with relevant and hands-on learning opportunities through applied research and entrepreneurship. Rick is responsible for shaping George Brown’s vision for 2030 and developing the corresponding business strategy. He leads the Registrar's Office, Marketing and Recruitment, Publishing, and the International Center. Rick is also responsible for Alumni Relations, Strategic Partnerships, Applied Research, Institutional Research, and Entrepreneurship.
Rick holds a Doctorate from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a Master’s of Science from Delft University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the Tilburg Polytechnics College in the Netherlands.
Senior Fellow, Centre for International Governance Innovation & Founder, Open Data Institute Toronto
Bianca has a dual background in technology and public engagement. She leads work on public sector technology policy for Canada at Dgen Network and is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in the Global Economy program. She worked for several years in the tech sector in operations, infrastructure, corporate training, and product management, most recently at Thomson Reuters.
As a facilitator at Swerhun Inc., she designed, delivered and supported public consultation processes for various governments and government agencies. In 2014, Bianca founded the Open Data Institute Toronto and in 2017 she co-founded Tech Reset Canada. She is a columnist, guest lecturer, and speaker on open government, data governance, and public sector technology policy.

Alex Carrick obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada) in 1969. His M.A. in Economics was earned at the University of Toronto (U of T) in 1971.
After finishing the courses for a doctorate while living at U of T’s Massey College, the lure of the job market proved too great and Mr. Carrick was hired by the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC), a trade association representing structural steel fabricators. He eventually became the CISC’s Secretary-Treasurer.
In 1985, Mr. Carrick became employed as Chief Economist with CanaData, the leading supplier of statistics and forecasting information for the Canadian construction industry. CanaData is a product line of CMD Group LLC, based in Atlanta.

Peter Norman is a well‐known professional land economist and forecaster and is Chief Economist at Altus Group and General Manager of Altus Group Economic Consulting. Widely quoted in the Canadian media, Peter is a frequent expert witness on economic matters and consults for private and public sector organizations across Canada, providing economic intelligence and strategic advice.
Peter Norman earned a BA at Trent University and an MA at the University of Guelph, sits on the Executive Committee of the Toronto Association of Business and Economics, the Economic Research Committee of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and is a member of the Association of Ontario Land Economists and a member of Lambda Alpha International, an Honourary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics. Peter lives with his wife and four children in Toronto.
Vice President, Data Operations, Altus Group
Ray is the Vice President of Data Operations for Altus Group’s Data Solutions team. Overseeing 60+ researchers across Canada, Ray’s primary responsibility is to ensure data collection is all encompassing, reliable and accurate and that it adheres to the Altus Group data governance guidelines. Ray works closely with both internal and external clients to ensure the information meets their needs and that it is both accurate and timely.
Prior to joining Altus Group, Ray was the Head of Research for CBRE Canada. He was responsible for the collection of market intelligence and publishing marketing market reports on a regular basis. Ray interacted with both internal and external clients in respect to presenting and discussing real estate information, trends and analysis. He initiated and introduced the CBRE Econometric Real Estate Forecasting model in Canada for office and industrial real estate.
